[The video screen shook a bit, as Ivan seemed to be adjusting it after finally figuring out how the damn thing worked. His face took up the majority of the screen.

Amazing! This thing didn't even look like a camera, and it seemed to do a lot more than just that too. They had portable cameras where he came from, but video was a whole 'nother story.

There was a whine, obviously feral, and the camera shifted down to a small yellow rat. Or Pikachu, but Ivan preferred to call it a rat.]

Heh! And look at this thing--it fits into a ball!

[He shoves it with his foot. The "rat" protests again, sparking angrily. Ivan either ignores it or simply doesn't notice as he turns the camera back to his beautiful visage. The lens wasn't as close now, and his Soviet Major's uniform could be seen. He had refused to change into his new Rocket uniform.]

If somebody could explain to me how to get home, the only assholes I talked to--

[And that's about the last thing Ivan says (besides a surprised scream) as he gets a good shock and the feed ends.]

I'm a man, aru. [This isn't the first time he's heard that question, so he answers in a pretty calm tone.]

Yes, they all have different abilities. Your pikachu, for example, is and electric-type, that's why it can use lightning and static with its attacks, aru. Then my Dewgong is an ice-type, so he will be able to use ice with his attacks.

[He smiles a bit.] How beautiful~

[Yeah, this talk of Pokemon? He's caring less and less.]

So that was what shocked me earlier...the thing should know better. I'll have to train it.

[He looks off screen at the rat, a little irritated. Pikachu can be heard responding cautiously.]

[Even though China's heard that one before too, he still blushes a little, but he keeps his face relaxed.] *ahem* Thank you, aru.

Even I have to admit they can get on one's nerves, but not all of them have bad attitudes...

[He takes his own pokegear and has it zoom out a little so his Gyarados, Lien-Hua, can be seen nuzzling against him like a purring cat.]

[Well, Ivan feels accomplished now. If only this weren't over...video...phone. Video phone.]

A good soldier should never attack his--what is that?!

[His face grew larger as Ivan leaned closer to his screen, trying to get a good look.

Pikachu's face popped into the frame as he tried to get a look, and Ivan pushed him away.]

[One of these days, Ivan... One of these days...]

Hm? Oh, this is Lien-Hua, my female Gyarados, aru. [He steps away from Lien-Hua and focuses the camera of his gear on his sea dragon.]

She's quite gentle, actually.

It's big...

[What the Colonel wouldn't do for a creature like that...]

Where did you get it?

Well... She actually used to be a tiny red fish until she evolved and became this beautiful dragon, aru. [He's honestly not expecting Ivan to believe him, but it was still the truth.]

Although, she should be having eggs soon, aru. I could raise one for you. [Because not everyone had the patience to raise these guys.]

I hope you don't expect me to believe that.

[He scoffed, but the offer for eggs still piqued his interest.]

I'll let that slide, though. [Ivan was so generous, wasn't he?]

Now, what do you want for it?

[He chuckles.] Many people don't tend to believe it either, aru.

Considering you're new here, I'll only charge 300P, that's the currency they use here by the way.

[He just hoped the offspring would be as good mattered as their mother.]

300P, huh?

[Ivan rummaged around in a bag at his side, remember being handed a bit of currency. It looks like he had roughly 3000P from what those Rockets gave him.]

I'll be getting a Gyra... the blue thing, right? I don't want some stupid fish.

[He nods.]

It will take time to raise the fish, but I will give it to you once it's become a dragon, aru.

[He tries to figure out where Ivan is by looking at the background.]

Where are you anyway?

Alright~ [Pleased with this deal, he smirks a bit.]

I, uh...Mahogany town.

Mahogany... [Wait... that was where all the Team Rocket recruits... He keeps a calm face on the outside, at least he hopes he is. Besides, he was anything but defenseless.]

I'm in Goldenrod. Perhaps, we could either meet in Ecruteak or I could take the shortcut to Mahogany myself, aru.

[That would mean he'd have to go ahead of his brothers, but with Hong Kong doing the badge challenge they'd catch up.]

[Ivan gives him a look, but doesn't seem to notice anything else.]

Ecruteak...let me see.

[He rummages around again, pulling out a map. Mahogany to Ecruteak...]

There's water in the way. I'm not swimming over that unless I can get a boat.

[He's not a very cooperative buyer. Granted, he assumes he'll have to swim it himself.]

[China can't help but chuckle.] Understandable. I wouldn't want to swim all the way across either. [Why would anyone go for a swim when it was still cold?]

I can get across with Lien-Hua, aru. Hopefully by the time I reach you, the fish will have evolved.

Then, perhaps... [He trails off.] Then, you could get across easily, aru. [That wasn't what he had originally planned on saying, but it sounded better this way.]

[The cold wasn't anything new to Ivan, being from Russia, but he knew his limits.]

About that--how long do you think it will take you?

[He really had no sense of how long traveling would take from one city to the next, and so far he hadn't even seen a vehicle. Better Yao to make the journey than him.]

[China rummages around in his own knapsack for his map. He takes a moment to look at it before looking into the screen again.]

I would say a month at the most, or four to three weeks at the least, aru. Plus I have to tell my brothers that I'll be going ahead of them.

[Now what sort of reason should he make up for going all the way to Mahogany? Though, Hong Kong would eventually find out most likely.]

A month?

[He's at disbelief. Ivan was a man of immediate gratification...and he really didn't want to stay in this own for that long. He really didn't want to stay in this "world" for that long.]

Isn't there a shortcut you can take?

[He cups his chin in thought.]

I have another pokemon that I can ride on land, so it should cut that time in half, aru. So then it'd probably take me two weeks?

It will depend on the pace I take, aru.

[He could always travel for two days or more days straight, but then his Onix would need a break after all that endless movement.]

[Two weeks was better. Still too long for his tastes, but better.]

...That's good enough. I'll have the money when you get here.

[In the meantime, maybe Ivan will see what this whole "Team Rocket" thing is about.]

[He nods.]

Alright. I'll leave Goldenrod tomorrow, then, aru.

[He still hasn't thought of what to tell his brothers, let alone everyone else he knew back in Goldenrod, as to why he was leaving so suddenly... He had better think fast.]

[Ivan gave a smarmy smile.]

I'll see you then~

[And if China has nothing else to add, Ivan will end the feed to go attend to other matters.]
